Stasha's Moment - The Idea of Connection

Stasha's Moment - iPhone & Connection

I am in desperate need of an intervention.

Hi, my name is Stasha and I am an iPhone addict. I am not ashamed to admit it and I am not the least bit interested in giving up my beloved gadgets. But I am suffering of a severe case of unproductiveness and my overindulgence in screen time is to blame.

You see, I am not one of your friends that meets you for coffee only to spend most of the time gramming the latte I ordered and then waiting for you to like it on my Instagram. I don't check into the grocery store when I enter it and tell everyone on Facebook I am planning on buying two pounds of cucumbers. I rarely complain on Twitter about politics and I certainly don't google every single thing that pops into my head. In fact, if you ever spend time with me you will agree that unless I am taking a photo my phone stays silently in my pocket not disturbing the

real life that surrounds me. Heck, I even summon my family the old-fashioned way, by screaming at the bottom of the stairs that dinner is indeed ready.

I have no games, no music and no apps that distract me. I would love to have a laundry-sorting app or breakfast-making app but apparently no one really cares about us housewives. So I guess you are all wondering what I am so worried about? In order to represent my current addiction to you I have tracked my last two hours activity.

My plan was simple. I was to go to bed early. I saw a notification from twitter that someone retweeted me saying that my husband sweet talking to me is a sure sign of he is running out of clean underwear. Then I noticed Jamie tweeting she feels like it's Isakov kinda evening so I remembered I wanted to purchase his new album. Next thing you know

I am spending crazy money on Amazon, filling up my iPod. After I check out they base upon my recent browsing history of hiking backpacks some suggestions on best selling sleeping pads which makes me google pros and cons of inflatable sleeping bag mattresses. One thing leads to another and here I am at 2 a.m. watching youtube videos of most epic hikes in the USA while folding laundry.

Now don't get me wrong. I don't miss those days of rewinding mixed tapes, driving to stores and taking bad advice from clerks that result in wrong purchases and having to wait for the K2 movie to hit the cinema. But truth be told I did sleep a whole lot better.
